About image

My name is Reina Remigio (she/ze), and I am second-generation Filipino-American, identify as non-binary in my gender, and femme in my gender expression.

Over the course of my career, I have had the honor and privilege of working together with patients challenged with diverse and complex, co-occurring issues to improve their psychological health and overall quality of life. I enjoyed doing this work in a variety of settings that served patients struggling with trauma, substance use disorders, and other mental health issues, from intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP), primary care integrated behavioral health, inpatient, forensic, residential, skilled care, and community mental health settings. I have had the added privilege of providing supervision and training to clinicians and staff, as well as teaching a global community of undergraduate psychology students at a non-profit university.

Prior to shifting fully into private practice, I served for 4 years as Clinical Director of an integrated mental health IOP/PHP center in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, where, in addition to directly providing clinical services to patients struggling with high acuity, co-occurring disorders, I oversaw and supported clinical care, a highly skilled team of clinicians, program development, and outcome measures to ensure gold standard whole-person care that is attuned to each patient's needs and goals.

Outside of work, I cherish the time I get to spend with family and starting creative projects ;) I also volunteer for two non-profit organizations: (1) as Board Vice President for HAND of the Bay Area (Helping After Neonatal Death), which offers free, peer support services for bereaved parents/families who have experienced miscarriage, termination of pregnancy due to maternal health/medical issues, stillbirth, and infant loss in the first year of life; and (2) as a member of Trans Family Support Services - Defending Equality advocating for trans youth protections in schools.

Throughout my life, I have had a specialized interest in supporting those whose suffering is internalized, hidden, or invisible to most. I am passionate about empowering individuals, couples, and families to make meaningful values-oriented changes that allow for and support greater authenticity and connection.
